ACCA Chronicles- Dreadful F5 & F6

Guys & Gals,

I hope you are all doing good and those of you who wrote a paper today… People, i wish you all the best.

Trust me, its not one of the regular blogs, where author will say that buckle up, hope for the best, try hard, you will nail it etc etc. Its a different post. I am not going to talk about how amazing my experience has been, how i have scored over 80% in all my paper and how i am so close to the end.

Becuause i am not…  yes, thats true.

I started ACCA papers a year and half back. I have marginal success so far. Let me give you my background briefly.  I am a working professional, working since 13 years to be precise. A year and half back, i decided to pursue ACCA. Just to let you know, i am someone with no financial background. Yes, i do have M.Sc. and M.Phil and MBA in Marketing :). But nothing in Finance or Accounting. Reason of choosing MBA was my desire to work for Finance and Control. Well so far, my exam passing ratio has not been very high, but the game is on and i have not given up yet.9

I passed F1, F2, F3, and F7. I attempted F5 twice and failed both time with 44% score (Apparently my favourite No.). Today was my third attempt for F5 and to be honest, i do not feel amazing about it. Feel like i have hit a wall. Its like things are static now and i need a success to feel better.

Question is: Do you feel that way too? I am not talking about super genius people, or full time students or people who are already Accountants or in Finance team, I am sure yu guys are super intelligent.I am reaching out to people in mid 30s who secured last academic degree over a decade back (yes, thats me), working professionals, those who want to get in Finance, those who try to balance work-life-play time. Has this happened to you as well and how did you get out of that phase? I took lectures from BPP online classroom but apparently my concepts are still weak. Perhaps its just me, my style of learning is not correct. I am not too sure.

So, i decided to reach out and take comments from anyone else who is like me and has been in same situation.

So Fellow ACCA students, write back or leave a comment. desperate to hear from you. I would like to think that there is light at the end of tunnel :).

P.S. I have to write F6 tomorrow (first time) and i dont know what will i write. Not so prepared. Fingers crossed!

and good luck to you for tomorrow

Regards

A
